Bristol Motor Speedway has announced a new multi-year sponsorship deal with Lilly Diabetes to sponsor the April 18 Xfinity Series race.

The spring race will continue as the Drive to Stop Diabetes 300.

“We are proud to continue our relationship with Lilly Diabetes in support of the Drive to Stop Diabetes initiative,” said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager for Bristol, in a release. “Diabetes is a prevalent issue nationally and in our local community. We are blessed to have the best fans in the world here at Bristol Motor Speedway, and this sponsorship allows us to call attention to an issue that touches some of them personally.”

Xfinity Series driver Ryan Reed was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 17. The 21-year-old drives the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes American Diabetes Association for Roush Fenway Racing and won the Xfinity race at Daytona in February.
