While older brother Kurt has dominated all three practices and qualifying prior to Sunday’s Auto Club 400 Sprint Cup race, younger bro Kyle Busch is making progress from last month’s horrific crash at Daytona International Speedway.
The younger Busch wrecked on Feb. 21 during the Xfinity Series season opener, breaking his right leg and fracturing his left foot.
Exactly one month later, while Kyle is still getting around primarily on four wheels — a wheelchair — he actually is able to take some steps (on his right foot) with the aid of a walker. Busch has protective boots that ride up to his knees, but this video posted by his wife shows he has some mobility.
Last month’s accident prevented Kyle from going for three straight Sprint Cup wins at Auto Club Speedway, but brother Kurt seems to be picking up the torch for the Busch family.
Kyle’s wife Samantha is using Twitter to keep fans up to date on her husband’s recovery, as well as the progress of the couple’s first child, due in May.
