Austin Dillon, driving the No. 33 Chevy for Richard Childress Racing, found himself at the top of the speed chart of the Xfinity Series’ final practice session at Auto Club Speedway.
Dillon, winner of the series’ Las Vegas race two weeks ago, had a fast lap of 174.914 mph, as well as the best 10 consecutive lap average of 171.282 mph.
Dillon was followed on the speed chart by Brad Keselowski at 174.740 mph and Regan Smith at 173.758 mph. Kevin Harvick, who was fastest in the first practice session, was fourth at 173.632 mph.
Kyle Larson finished the session with a back up car after his No. 42 Chevy smacked the wall out of Turn 4, which led to a red flag period to clean up debris. Larson topped out at 22nd fastest with a speed of 169.723 mph.
