Former NASCAR driver Tyler Walker was arrested Monday morning and is being held on a no-bond warrant after failing to arrive in court on time for sentencing on charges stemming from a three-state police chase two years ago.
Walker, 35, was scheduled to appear in front of Washington County (Utah) Fifth District Court Judge Eric A. Ludlow on Monday morning. When Walker failed to show up, Ludlow issued an arrest warrant.
Walker subsequently arrived about 45 minutes late to the St. George (Utah) court room and was immediately taken into custody, according to a report by The Associated Press.
Walker, whose full legal name is Timothy Tyler Andrew Walker, will remain in custody in the Washington County jail until another sentencing hearing on March 30. He is ineligible for bond due to the new arrest.
The former NASCAR driver was to be sentenced Monday on five charges related to a lengthy police chase in January 2013 that began in Nevada and wound its way through Arizona and into Utah, where he was eventually stopped and arrested.
Speeds in the chase reached as high as 150 mph, according to police reports. When he was taken into custody at the end of the chase, state police found methamphetamine, marijuana and alcohol in his car.

Walker pled guilty in December 2014 to five charges: possession of a controlled substance and failure to stop for an officer, both of which are felonies, as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, impaired driving and having an open container.

Walker was expected to receive probation for the guilty pleas, but that could be in doubt now because of Monday’s arrest, Washington County prosecutor Rachelle Shumway told The Associated Press.
Walker competed in 28 races in NASCAR -- 19 in the Xfinity Series, and nine in the Camping World Truck Series. His best overall finish was eighth in a 2007 Truck race in Martinsville.
Walker, who lives in Hermosa, Calif., was suspended in 2007 after failing a drug test that violated NASCAR’s substance abuse policy.
Because he’s never petitioned to go through NASCAR’s Road to Recovery program, Walker remains suspended indefinitely by the sanctioning body.
After his suspension from NASCAR, Walker went on to race for several seasons in the World of Outlaws and other dirt track series.
