In light of last week’s qualifying controversies at Atlanta, Nate Ryan joins NASCAR America to discuss how NASCAR has built in more time for inspection this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Thirteen drivers did not make a qualifying attempt last weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway because their cars did not pass inspection. Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and race winner Jimmie Johnson were among those who started at the back of the field on race day after failing to get through inspection in time.

Gordon said: “I’m embarrassed for our series now that this just happened.”

A number of cars also were late to the starting grid before Sunday’s race at Atlanta because they had troubles getting through inspection on time.
