Ever wonder how NASCAR cars are ‘painted’? (video)

Fans who think teams still paint their race cars will get an eye-opening experience in this new video from Joe Gibbs Racing.

Instead of paint, full-car sized vinyl sheets with sponsor logos - in this case, Comcast Business as primary sponsor of Carl Edwards’ car for this weekend’s race in Las Vegas - and stickers already in place are pasted onto the car.

In layman’s terms, think of trying to put a bumper sticker on your own car and center it without getting air bubbles. That’s the challenge crews are faced with to make sure the sheets adhere properly.
