Regan Smith will drive the No. 41 Chevrolet a second consecutive week for Stewart-Haas Racing in place of indefinitely suspended Kurt Busch.

SHR has confirmed Smith, a full-time driver for JR Motorsports in the Xfinity Series, will be in the No. 41 this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway, starting with Thursday’s open test session on the 1.54-mile oval.

The move is only for Atlanta, and the team said no driver had been determined yet for the season’s third race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Earlier today, a team spokesperson told NASCAR Talk that the No. 41 would run at Atlanta but didn’t name a driver.

With only one practice, Smith finished 16th in the No. 41 in Sunday’s Daytona 500 after NASCAR suspended Busch on Friday and won two appeals Saturday.

Sunday’s QuikTrip Folds of Honor 500 will mark Smith’s seventh Cup start at Atlanta and his first since he finished 14th there in September 2012, tying his best in Cup at Atlanta from March 2010.
