A solid Daytona 500 for Brad Keselowski ended with an engine failure with 40 laps to go Sunday in The Great American Race.
Keselowski started 39th but was running in the top five when the 2012 Sprint Cup champion’s engine failed off Turn 2.
Directly behind Keselowski was Sam Hornish Jr., who kept his Ford straight. But Jamie McMurray and Ryan Newman collided after seeming to slide through fluid dropped by Keselowski’s car. Newman subsequently went to the garage:

It’s Keselowski’s first engine failure in Sprint Cup competition since the September 2013 race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
“I guess an oil containment issue,” Keselowski told Fox. “Something in the oil pan, broke something important. It’s a shame. We were starting to get position. The last run here was right in front of us and we were right up in the top 10, I think we had just gotten in the top five. But that’s just the way it goes.”
