A four-car wreck nearly two-thirds of the way through the second Budweiser Duel 150 race of Thursday night has brought out a red flag stoppage of the event.
On Lap 38 of the 60-lap race, it appeared rookie Jeb Burton clipped the right rear of Sam Hornish Jr.'s car, sending the latter spinning into the outside retaining wall and ultimately collecting the cars of Austin Dillon and Alex Bowman.
“The 9 (Hornish) came up a little bit and it got me really loose and I got to weaving back and forth and I got back into the 9,” Burton said. “These cars are so on the edge and it’s very disappointing.
“I hate that we got tore up, but we’ll keep fighting.”
Jimmie Johnson was in the lead at the time of the wreck.
At the beginning of the race, Josh Wise was unable to take the green flag due to an apparent fuel line issue and will not qualify to race in the 500.
