Denny Hamlin’s rise to NASCAR stardom started from inauspicious beginnings, and he detailed many of them during a Monday visit to The Dan Patrick show.

From his tenure as a Subway sandwich artist (he claims to have shed 40 pounds while regularly wolfing down tuna subs) to his brief stint as Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Daytona 500 trophy caddy in 2004, Hamlin detailed his slow and steady march to the Sprint Cup Series after catching the eye of Joe Gibbs Racing.
