Paul Menard gets pole for Sprint Unlimited, Dale Earnhardt Jr., starting 24th

Paul Menard will start on the pole for Saturday night’s Sprint Unlimited at Daytona International Speedway.

The starting lineup was set by a blind draw Friday.

Defending Daytona 500 champion Dale Earnhardt will start 24th in the 25-car field. Kyle Larson, last year’s Sprint Cup rookie of the year, starts last. Denny Hamlin, who won this event last year, starts ninth.

Kasey Kahne starts second, joining Menard on the front row. Team Penske’s Joey Logano (third) and Brad Keselowski (fourth) occupy the second row. Kyle Busch starts fifth.
