Richard Childress Racing confirmed Tuesday that its NASCAR Xfinity Series driver, Brian Scott, will run in the Daytona 500.
Scott will drive the No. 62 Chevrolet from Premium Motorsports, the new entity of team owner Jay Robinson.
Robinson recently bought the assets of Tommy Baldwin Racing’s No. 36 team and re-numbered the car to No. 62.
With Scott now set for the 500, he’ll be on double duty for Speedweeks. He’ll also run the Feb. 21 Xfinity season opener at Daytona.
Scott is eligible for this Saturday’s Sprint Unlimited by winning a Sprint Cup pole last year at Talladega, but he will not take part in the event.
He finished 25th last year in his Daytona 500 debut.
