After a brief hiatus, NASCAR is back this weekend with its first of two race weekends at Bristol Motor Speedway.

NASCAR Cup teams prepare for the Food City 500, while Xfinity teams take part in the second Dash 4 Cash race in the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300.

This weekend NASCAR concludes its three-race “West Coast Swing” with a visit to the 2-mile Auto Club Speedway.

The Cup Series has the Auto Club 400, and the Xfinity Series holds the Service King 300.

Brickyard 400 qualifying, practice moved to Saturday

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the latest track to announce changes to its weekend schedule in relation to NASCAR Cup Series qualifying.

IMS announced Thursday that NASCAR Cup qualifying and both Cup practice sessions for the Brickyard 400 will be held on Saturday, July 22. Both were previously held on Friday.

Qualifying is now scheduled to start at 6:15 p.m. ET following the Xfinity Series race, which is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The two Cup Series’ 50-minute practice sessions will start at 9 and 11 a.m. ET. Xfinity qualifying will be at 12:45 p.m. ET.

On Friday, the Xfinity Series will have two practice sessions followed by a fan fest and the annual hauler parade.

IMS joins Martinsville Speedway, Pocono Raceway and Watkins Glen International in adjusting their weekend schedules for qualifying.

Martinsville and Pocono will hold qualifying on Sunday prior to the second races this year. WGI will also have qualifying on Sunday.
