Cole Custer wins pole for today’s Xfinity race at Bristol

BRISTOL, Tenn. - Cole Custer scored his first career Xfinity pole, capturing the top spot for Saturday afternoon’s FitzGerald Glider Kits 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Custer won the pole with a lap of 127.157 mph in the final round. He was followed by Justin Allgaier (126.913 mph), Christopher Bell (126.704), Daniel Hemric (126.570) and John Hunter Nemechek (126.411).

Custer, Bell, Hemric and Ryan Preece (qualified seventh at 125.823 mph) are racing for the $100,000 bonus today in the Dash 4 Cash.

Ryan Sieg crashed in the second round of qualifying and will go to a backup car.

Today’s race is scheduled to take the green flag at 1:13 p.m. ET today.

Morgan Shepherd, who made his 1,000th career NASCAR start last week at Texas, was the only car that failed to qualify. He hit the wall in the opening seconds of the first round.
