NASCAR heads to its second short track of the season this weekend with its spring visit to Bristol Motor Speedway.

The half-mile track will host the Cup and Xfinity Series.

Both series will have the same Goodyear tire codes. While the left-side tire is the same one that’s been used since August 2014, the right-side tire features the same tread compound as last year, but has a new construction which is becoming the standard at all speedways.

The tread compounds Goodyear will bring to Bristol are designed to lay the right amount of rubber down on the smooth concrete surface.

The tire is a result of a Goodyear test at Bristol last September with Ty Dillon and Erik Jones.

This is the only track teams are scheduled to run either of these two tire codes.

“Bristol provides several challenges when designing and building a tire set-up,” said Greg Stucker, Goodyear’s director of racing in a press release “It’s important to rubber-in the concrete surface, and the compounds we run do that both quickly and to the proper degree. Bristol is also very much like a speedway in that the high banks generate a lot of speed and a high amount of loading. The tire set-up that we bring takes that into account while enhancing the stability and handling of the cars through the corners.”

Here’s the tire info.
