Jimmie Johnson fastest in final Cup practice at Texas Motor Speedway

Jimmie Johnson was fastest in an abbreviated final practice for Sunday’s Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway.

A seven-time winner at the track, Johnson posted a top speed of 198.143 mph. The session ran for 25 minutes after being delayed more than a half hour due to rain.

Johnson was followed by Kevin Harvick (197.984), Daniel Suarez (197.780), Kurt Busch (197.759) and Martin Truex Jr. (197.614).

Kyle Larson, who was sixth on the speed chart, recorded the most laps (30).

Harvick recorded the best 10-lap average at 196.904 mph.
