Kevin Harvick: Brickyard 400 ‘seemed like six hours plus’

Kevin Harvick describes the madness of the late-race restart but applauds his team for the sixth place finish.

Kevin Harvick wasn’t exactly keeping time, but he admits Sunday’s lengthy Brickyard 400 ‘seemed like six hours plus.’

Harvick couldn’t have called it better. The race was red-flagged for nearly two hours after the first 12 laps were run.

Then, the race resumed and had two additional red-flag race stoppages.

Add up all the on-track racing action and it really did wind up being about six full hours of racing before things finally ended just moments before 9 p.m. ET.
