Truex goes 2-for-2: captures Stage 2 to go along with Stage 1 win at Michigan

It’s two down, one big one to go for Martin Truex Jr. at Michigan International Speedway.

Truex won Stage 2 of the FireKeepers Casino 400 after winning Stage 1, too.

Kyle Busch is second after Stage 2, followed by pole-sitter Kyle Larson, Matt Kenseth, Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Kurt Busch, Chase Elliott and Brad Keselowski.

It was Truex’s series-leading 10th stage win of the season. Kyle Busch ranks sescond with four stage wins.

There have been five instances of drivers winning the first two stages in a race this season, with Truex doing it three times (Charlotte, Las Vegas, Michigan). Kevin Harvick (Atlanta) and Ryan Blaney (Texas) also accomplished the feat.

Truex has two NASCAR Cup wins in 2017: Las Vegas and Kansas.

After 60 laps in both Stage 1 and Stage 2, there are 80 of 200 laps remaining.

There was no caution period during the 60-lap Stage 2.
