Ricky Stenhouse Jr. passed Kyle Busch on the final lap in NASCAR Overtime to win the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, the first Cup victory for the Roush Fenway Racing driver.
Jamie McMurray finished second, followed by Busch, Aric Almirola and Kasey Kahne.
It was the 158th start in NASCAR’s premier series for Stenhouse, whose No. 17 Ford qualifed on the pole position and led 14 laps. With the victory, he qualifies for the playoffs for the first time in his career.
