Chase Elliott edges out Kyle Larson to seal a Stage 2 win at the Phoenix Raceway.

Chase Elliott took the lead on a three-wide move and left the field behind to win Stage 2 in Sunday’s Camping World 500 at Phoenix Raceway.

Kyle Larson finished second and was followed by Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson and Brad Keselowski. Jamie McMurray was sixth and followed by rookie Erik Jones, Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick.

It was Elliott’s first stage win of the season. He won his qualifying race at Daytona last month and scored stage points for that.

Elliott took the lead on the first green-flag lap of Stage 2. Elliott went high, Joey Logano was in the middle and Larson on the inside as they crossed the start/finish line.

This stage also marked the first time Logano and Kyle Busch had raced around each other since last week’s last-lap contact and post-race altercation on pit road. Busch passed for fourth without incident.

Logano’s chances of contending for another stage win ended when he was called for speeding on pit road. Logano was on pit road with the field during a caution caused by Corey LaJoie’s accident - his second incident of the race. That dropped Logano to 32nd on Lap 122 of the 312-lap race. Logano finished the stage 22nd.

Logano led all but one lap to win the first stage.
