NASCAR announced Sunday that Brad Keselowski’s Team Penske Ford failed the weights and measures station after Sunday’s race at Phoenix Raceway.

A NASCAR spokesperson told NBC Sports that any other details would come later this week.

Steve O’Donnell, NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer, told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Monday that Keselowski’s car failed the laser platform and that the penalty falls in line with what is stated in the Rule Book. The Rule Book states that failing to meet minimum weight after the race or incorrect ground clearance and/or body heights measurements after a race is an L1 infraction with a penalty of a 10-40 point deduction, fine of $25,000 to $75,000 and suspension of the crew chief for one to three races.

Keselowski is second in the points after his fifth-place finish Sunday. He trails series leader Kyle Larson by six points.

NASCAR also stated that the cars of winner Ryan Newman, Larson (runner-up) and Kevin Harvick (random pick) will be taken back to the R&D Center in Concord, North Carolina, for further evaluation as is often done after Cup races.
