Erik Jones loses pit selection at Las Vegas after inspection failure

Erik Jones and the No. 77 team have lost pit selection for Sunday’s Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway after failing pre-qualifying inspection multiple times.

The No. 77 car failed the weights and measures station of the inspection process three times.

The Furniture Row Racing rookie starts eighth in the race.

Kasey Kahne and Martin Truex Jr. also failed pre-qualifying inspection. Both cars failed the template inspection twice, but only lost 15 minutes of practice time Saturday morning.
