Martin Truex Jr. was the fastest driver in Friday’s pre-qualifying NASCAR Cup practice at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Cup qualifying is set for 7:45 p.m. ET this evening, and Truex set a good benchmark in Friday’s sole practice session with a run of 193.500 mph, the only driver to top 193 mph.
Atlanta winner and defending Las Vegas winner Brad Keselowski was second-fastest (192.995 mph), followed by Jimmie Johnson (192.988), Kyle Larson (192.719) and Matt Kenseth (192.644).
Sixth through 10th fastest were Kasey Kahne (192.61), Ryan Blaney (192.356), Kevin Harvick (192.239), Chase Elliott (192.164) and Denny Hamlin (192.068).
There will be two more Cup practice sessions on Saturday.
