The Brad Keselowski train keeps rolling along.
Keselowski won last Sunday at Atlanta. He added to that Friday by earning the pole position for Sunday’s Kobalt 400 NASCAR Cup race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Keselowski is now going for his second consecutive win not only this season, but after winning there last year, is also looking for his second win in a row at the 1.5-mile LVMS.
Keselowski grabbed the pole with a speed of 193.680 mph. It was the 13th career Cup pole for Keselowski and the 120th career Cup pole for Team Penske.
Martin Truex Jr. earned the outside spot on the front row at 193.458 mph. It’s Truex’s first front row start of the season.
Third through fifth were Ryan Blaney (193.410 mph), Matt Kenseth (193.389) and Kyle Larson (193.161).
Sixth through 12th were Joey Logano (193.140), Kasey Kahne (193.133), Erik Jones (192.369), Kyle Busch (192.362), Jamie McMurray (192.362), Daniel Suarez (191.966) and Chase Elliott (191.042).
The Cup Series drivers have two practices set for Saturday at 12-12:55 p.m. ET and 2:30-3:20 p.m. ET.
Also Saturday, the Xfinity Series has qualifying at 1:05 p.m. ET, with the Boyd Gaming 300 race scheduled later the same afternoon for 4 p.m. ET.
