NASCAR America live at 5 p.m. ET: Impact of stage racing, Hall of Fame talk

Today’s episode of NASCAR America airs from 5-6 p.m. ET on NBCSN and continues to preview the weekend’s action at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and discussing the latest NASCAR Hall of Fame nominees.

Rick Allen hosts with Kyle Petty, Dale Jarrett and Nate Ryan from NBC Charlotte.

On today’s show:

· More on the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2018 nominees, a group that has two new marquee names: Joe Gibbs and Roger Penske. Could either of them make it in as a first-ballot inductee?

· Before Las Vegas Motor Speedway came along, there was already a place where many young Vegas racers honed their craft - including Daytona 500 champ Kurt Busch. Today’s My Home Track features Kurt’s memories of racing at “The Bullring.”

· We’ll also go further into how the new stage format has impacted the races and the points standings early in 2017. With Kevin Harvick atop the standings despite being winless, it’s proof that running up front means more than ever.
