NASCAR America: Chase Elliott’s crew chief on speeding penalties and more from Atlanta

Chase Elliott's crew chief, Alan Gustafson, talks about what went wrong for Elliott in Atlanta as the 21-year old failed to reach Victory Lane.

Quite a bit went wrong for Chase Elliott last Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway from speeding penalties to once again again getting a bad restart late in the race.

Dave Burns visited with Elliott’s crew chief, Alan Gustafson, about how the No. 24 team is working to fix their mistakes.

“You never want to get a speeding penalty,” Gustafson said. “You never want to put yourself into a worse position, you always want to execute correctly. But to win these races you have really, really be on the edge. Want to be good enough that we can be right against the edge bot don’t go over.”
