Daniel Hemric paces second Xfinity practice; Brandon Jones goes to backup

Rookie Daniel Hemric posted the fastest lap in the second of three Xfinity practice sessions Friday at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Hemric led the way with a lap of 179.621 mph.

Aric Almirola, who was fastest in the morning practice, was second in this session at 178.827 mph. Rookie Cole Custer was next at 178.608 mph and followed by Brad Keselowski (178.287 mph) and Darrell Wallace Jr. (177.989).

Brandon Jones went to a backup car after he hit the wall between Turns 3 and 4 during the session. He had run 11 laps in the session up to that point in the primary car.
