Daniel Suarez enters his rookie season in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series having never competed in a Cup race.

His first test will come in the Advanced Auto Parts Clash on Saturday.

NASCAR America’s analysts discussed how the defending Xfinity Series champion will tackle the pressures of the sport’s biggest stage.

“It’s going to be tough,” Kyle Petty said. “I’m not sure where Daniel is right now as a driver. I know he won the championship but I felt Erik was a little bit better last year driver wise and a little bit farther along in his career than what Daniel, his teammate, was.”
