Jimmie Johnson, Joey Logano and other Cup contenders discuss the new changes to NASCAR's regular season.

Jimmie Johnson, Joey Logano, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and several other Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers sat down recently with the NASCAR America crew to talk about how the new enhancements this season -- including three stages within a race, bonus points and more -- will impact the racing.

“You’ve got to go out there and give it your everything, your all every single lap,” said Kyle Busch. “There’s no more win Daytona and you’re into the (playoffs), let the regular season go, it doesn’t matter because you get those bonus points and those bonus points will be awarded all through the season.”

Added Earnhardt, “It’s good to have that success in the regular season amount going through the rounds (of the playoffs).”

Denny Hamlin may have summed it up the best: “We want to put on the greatest event we can for the race fans, and in the end, I think this does it for us.”

Check out the montage of interviews about the enhanced format in the video above.

And don’t forget, NASCAR America returns at 6 p.m. ET, Monday, Feb. 13, on NBCSN.
