CREW CHIEF: Shane Huffman

TEAM: Red Horse Racing

POINTS: 4th

WINS: 0

LAPS LED: 105

TOP 5s: 8

TOP 10s: 16

POLES: 1

WHAT WENT RIGHT: Peters reached the final round of the inaugural Truck Chase, finishing fourth. … He continued to remain one of the most consistent drivers in the series with eight top-fives, 16 top-10s and one pole (identical to his numbers in 2015).

WHAT WENT WRONG: Luck wasn’t on Peters’ side when it came to reaching victory lane in 2016. After winning two races for the third time in his career in 2015, Peters failed to win even one race in 2016 for the first time since he became a full-time Truck Series driver in 2009 (last winless season was his part-time schedule in 2008). … Also, his 105 laps led were the fewest since he became a full-time Truck Series driver in 2009.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2017: The biggest thing for Peters is, as the late NFL team owner Al Davis used to say, “Just win, baby.” Peters is one of the most talented drivers in the series, has a strong team behind him and can get back to victory lane soon enough. He can use the winless 2016 as motivation to start off 2017 with a win in the season-opening race at Daytona – and then do it again and again, potentially.
