A lot of technical terms get thrown around during the TV broadcast of a NASCAR race. Two of those are “wedge” and “track bar.”
The wedge can be taken in and out of the car on pit road while the track bar can also be adjusted.
JD Motorsports, the Xfinity Series team that will field Ross Chastain in 2017, has done a favor for those who don’t know for sure what’s going on when these parts of a car are tinkered with during a visit to pit road.
The team has shared a video showing what’s happening underneath a car when a crew chief calls for changes to the wedge and track bar.
