One championship isn’t enough for Todd Gilliland – he’s going for two more – and in the same season to boot.
Gilliland, who won the 2016 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship, will not only try to repeat that feat in 2017, he’ll also vie for the K&N Pro Series East title.
Bill McAnally Racing announced the 16-year-old Gilliland will race full-time in both series in the upcoming season.
“This is a great opportunity to take the next step in my racing career,” Todd Gilliland said in a statement. “We want to build on the success we had in the 2016 season. It’s a big move to compete for points in both divisions. I look forward to the challenge.”
Gilliland, the son of NASCAR driver David Gilliland, earned six wins and amassed 11 top-five finishes in 14 K&N Pro Series West races last season. He also had one win in the K&N Pro Series East.
