North Carolina Congressman pays tribute to Tony Stewart in speech

On Monday, Tony Stewart was honored in a brief speech on the floor of the House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.

The tribute to Stewart and his NASCAR racing career, which ended after this season, was made by Rep. Richard Hudson, R-NC.

“He’s a reminder to all of us that champions are not born winners,” Hudson said in the speech. “They’re built through hard work, grit and determination.”

Hudson’s district includes Concord, North Carolina, where Charlotte Motor Speedway and multiple race teams are based.
