Dale Earnhardt Jr. got emotional while talking about his Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jimmie Johnson’s seventh championship, which ties his father’s and Richard Petty’s record for most championships by a driver.
Earnhardt Jr. reveals he told Johnson, “I wish dad was here so he could shake his hand.”
Happy for @JimmieJohnson. I wish dad was here to shake his hand. Woulda been awesome to see that.

Very deservingly @JimmieJohnson joins two other great racers with 7 championships! My dad, if here, would happily welcome him to the elite.
