In the same fashion as the first two championship-deciding races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2014 and 2015, Daniel Suarez claimed the inaugural Xfinity Series Chase for the Championship by winning both the EcoBoost 300 and the title as well.
Elliott Sadler and JR Motorsports teammate Justin Allgaier gave a strong effort in the closing laps, but finished third and sixth respectively.
The other driver in contention for the championship, Erik Jones, finished ninth.
Non-Chase drivers also did very well, including race runner-up Ty Dillon, Ryan Blaney (fourth) and Austin Dillon (fifth).
