NASCAR penalizes two crew chiefs for lug nut violations

NASCAR fined Adam Stevens, crew chief for Kyle Busch’s Sprint Cup team, $10,000 for having a lug nut not secured to a wheel after Sunday’s race at Phoenix International Raceway.

NASCAR also suspended and fined Kevin Meendering, crew chief for Elliott Sadler’s Xfinity team after Sadler’s car was found to have two lug nuts not secured at Phoenix. Meendering will be suspended for this weekend’s season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway and fined $10,000. Mike Bumgarner will serve as Sadler’s crew chief at Homestead. Sadler is one of the four drivers competing for the Xfinity championship.
