Martin Truex Jr. atop speed chart for second practice; Joey Logano first among contenders

AVONDALE, Ariz. -- In a backup No. 78 Toyota because of a Friday crash, Martin Truex posted the fastest lap (135.476 mph) in the first of two Sprint Cup practices Saturday at Phoenix International Raceway.

Brad Keselowski, Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson followed Truex on the speed chart.

Joey Logano (fifth) was the highest among Chase for the Sprint Cup contenders. How the rest of the playoff drivers fared:

--Kevin Harvick (sixth);

--Kyle Busch (eighth);

--Kurt Busch (ninth);

--Denny Hamlin (10th);

--Jimmie Johnson (11th);

--Carl Edwards (20th).

Truex also was fastest in consecutive 10-lap average during the session.
