Watch LIVE: NASCAR America at 5:30 p.m. ET: Brian Scott’s retirement, Chase analysis

Today’s episode of NASCAR America airs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN and gives you one last look at storylines entering the race weekend at Phoenix International Raceway.

Carolyn Manno hosts with Kyle Petty and Parker Kligerman in Stamford, Connecticut.

On today’s show:

· We’ll have more on today’s unexpected announcement: Sprint Cup rookie Brian Scott has announced his retirement at season’s end to focus on his young family.

· We get the latest from Chase teams Joe Gibbs Racing and Stewart-Haas Racing. Marty Snider caught up with JGR as they look to put more of their drivers into the Championship 4. Dave Burns also checks in from SHR to see where Kurt Busch and Kevin Harvick are at going into a critical elimination race on Sunday.

· Kelley Earnhardt Miller and Elliott Sadler used to race against each other. Now, they’re working to bring another Xfinity Series championship to JR Motorsports as team co-owner and driver. We take a closer look at their tight-knit bond and how it’s shaped their current partnership.

· Xfinity Series Chase driver Daniel Suarez has a 17-point cushion entering the Round of 8 finale at Phoenix. But with all four Championship spots on the line, no one is safe. He calls into the show to talk about Saturday’s big race.
