The NASCAR America crew debates NASCAR's decision to keep Matt DiBenedetto out of the race in Texas due to a recent concussion, despite DiBenedetto tweeting that he felt okay.

After crashing in Saturday’s Xfinity Series race, Matt DiBenedetto was sidelined from Sunday’s Cup race as he was placed in the concussion protocol.

However, DiBenedetto tweeted that he felt fine, which sparked a conversation with 2012 NASCAR champion Brad Keselowski. Keselowski tweeted he didn’t understand why DiBenedetto was being held out if he felt fine and that the system shouldn’t “rely on simply a track worker or nurses feedback to a doctor. Especially when it conflicts with the driver.”

DiBenedetto will need to go through the concussion protocol in order to be cleared for this weekend’s race at Phoenix International Raceway.
