NASCAR will have a tripleheader weekend at Phoenix International Raceway and there should be no surprises when it comes to the tire setup.
All three series will run the same setup, and it’s a familiar one to Xfinity and Sprint Cup teams. The Camping World Truck Series, however, will have a different setup from what they ran at Phoenix last November.
Truck, Xfinity, and Sprint Cup tire info:
Set limits: Sprint Cup - five sets for practice and qualifying and 9 sets for the race; Xfinity - six sets for the event; Camping World Truck - five 5 sets for the event
Tire Codes: Left-side -- D-4664; Right-side -- D-4666
Tire Circumference: Left-side -- 87.56 in. (2,224 mm); Right-side -- 88.35 in. (2,244 mm)
Minimum Recommended Inflation: Left Front -- 14 psi; Left Rear -- 14 psi; Right Front -- 34 psi; Right Rear -- 32 psi
All three NASCAR series will run the same tire setup at Phoenix this weekend. This is the same combination of left and right-side tires Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series ran at Phoenix in March. For Camping World Truck Series teams, this is a different tire setup from what they ran at Phonix last November.
Compared to what was run at Phoenix last season both left and right-side tires feature the same constructions with different compounds to give the trucks/cars more grip. Phoenix is the only track at which either of these two tire codes are run.
As on most NASCAR ovals one-mile or less in length, teams will not run liners in their tries at Phoenix.
