There are 40 cars on the preliminary entry list for the Sprint Cup Series’ Can-Am 500 at Phoenix International Raceway.
It is the penultimate race of the season and will determine the final two drivers who will compete for the championship at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards are the only two drivers locked in.
Gray Gaulding will attempt to make his second career start in the No. 30 for The Motorsports Group.
Alex Bowman will make his ninth start in the No. 88 for Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the defending winner of the race. Kevin Harvick won the March 13 race.
