Kurt Busch was one of the worst finishing Chase drivers Sunday at Martinsville Speedway.

After qualifying 23rd, Busch struggled with the handling of his No. 41 Chevrolet throughout the Goody’s Fast Relief 500. By day’s end, Busch finished 22nd and was three laps off the pace.

“We missed it,” Busch said. “I don’t know where, how, why, we missed it. Even SHR (Stewart-Haas Racing) as a group we didn’t perform well. That was not the day we needed. Sorry to State Water Heaters, their only race of the year and we didn’t perform well for them. We just missed it.”

Busch is seventh on the Chase grid entering Texas Motor Speedway, 18 points out of a transfer spot.
