Johnny Sauter takes Truck Series points lead with Martinsville win

Johnny Sauter not only advanced to the championship round of the inaugural Camping World Truck Series Chase with Saturday’s win at Martinsville, he also takes over the standings lead.

Sauter holds a seven-point edge over fellow Chase driver Christopher Bell.

As for the other four remaining Chase drivers, Timothy Peters is third (-8), followed by William Byron (-11), two-time series champ Matt Crafton (-20) and Ben Kennedy (-21).

Two more races remain in the Round of 6 in the Truck Series Chase: next Friday at Texas and Nov. 11 at Phoenix. The championship race is Nov. 18 at Homestead-Miami Speedway in South Florida.
