Chase Elliott wins Martinsville Truck pole

Chase Elliott swept all three rounds of qualifying to claim the pole for today’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway. This marks Elliott’s first start in the series since 2013.

Elliott, who is competing to gain more experience at Martinsville, won the pole with a lap of 96.254 mph. Daniel Suarez qualified second at 95.922 mph. They were followed by Cole Custer (95.903 mph), Tyler Reddick (95.883) and Chase contender Johnny Sauter (95.854)

Other Chase contenders who made the final round were: Christopher Bell (starting sixth), William Byron (seventh) and Matt Crafton (11th).

Chase contenders Ben Kennedy (18th) and Timothy Peters (19th) failed to make it to the final round of qualifying.
