NASCAR senior VP of racing operations Jim Cassidy called in to discuss the changes to the 2017 participation guidelines, which will put more of an emphasis and spotlight on drivers who come up through the system.

NASCAR will limit current Sprint Cup veterans with five or more years of experience to 10 races in the Xfinity Series and seven in the Camping World Truck Series. They also are banned from competing in the final eight races of each series’ season and the Xfinity Dash 4 Cash races.
