Watch live: NASCAR America at 5:30 p.m. ET: Talladega recap

Today’s episode of NASCAR America airs for 90 minutes beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN and analyzes all the major stories that emerge from the Sprint Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway.

Krista Voda hosts with Sam Hornish Jr. in Stamford, Connecticut and are joined by Jeff Burton and Steve Letarte from Burton’s Garage.

On today’s show:

  • There was enough drama to go around the 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday. With a rogue jack, two engine failures and a punch thrown, the elimination race did not disappoint. We’ll hear from Joey Logano in Victory Lane and then Hornish, Burton and Letarte break it all down and explain what it means for the Chase.
  • The final spot for the Round of 8 came down to 0.006 of a second between Denny Hamlin and Austin Dillon. We’ll look this “race within a race” and what it means for both drivers going forward.
  • Joe Gibbs Racing successfully implemented a strategy to have all 4 of its drivers advance to the Round of 8. While Denny Hamlin had to race his way in - teammates Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards & Matt Kenseth took a conservative approach. Was JGR playing it safe or racing smart?
