When the eight remaining drivers in the Chase for the Sprint Cup are introduced before the No. 6 Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway, it will be by one of the most famous action movie stars ever.

The drivers will be introduced by the one, the only, Chuck Norris.

Norris, who portrayed Cordell Walker in the action TV show “Walker, Texas Ranger” from 1993-2001, will introduce Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, Denny Hamlin, Carl Edwards, Joey Logano and Kurt Busch.

“I can’t wait to get to Texas Motor Speedway to see all those incredible NASCAR fans and have the honor of introducing some of the most courageous and daring athletes in sports,” Norris said in a press release. “I’m looking forward to some dramatic racing, visiting with (Speedway Motorsports, Inc. Executive Chairman) Bruton (Smith) and (speedway president) Eddie (Gossage) and getting an opportunity to meet (grand marshal) Dennis Quaid. It should be quite an entertaining day.”

Norris has a history with TMS. The track and the sport were featured in a two-part episode of “Walker, Texas Ranger” in 1999.
