Brad Keselowski suddenly drops down to the apron after his water and oil temperature were rising. It soon becomes clear with flames under the hood and smoke pouring out of the rear that his engine expired.

After leading a race high 90 laps at Talladega Superspeedway, Chase driver Brad Keselowski lost his engine on Lap 145 while running in second. Keselowski was essentially eliminated from the Chase. The engine failure came after the No. 2 had multiple instances of extended runs with debris on his grille. Keselowski finished 38th with his second DNF in two weeks after not having one since the 2015 Daytona 500.
