Greg Biffle fastest in opening Sprint Cup practice at Talladega

TALLADEGA, Ala. - Greg Biffle paced the first Sprint Cup Series practice at Talladega Superspeedway Friday with a lap of 198.949 mph.

Biffle led the way of nine non-Chase contenders making up the top 10. Three of the top five drivers on the speed chart were from the Roush Fenway Racing stable.

Biffle was fastest over AJ Allmendinger (198.327 mph), Chris Buescher (198.261 mph), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (198.261 mph), and Trevor Bayne (198.105 mph).

Kevin Harvick, ninth fastest at 196.483 mph, was the only Chase driver in the top 10. Martin Truex Jr. was the next Chase driver at 13th fastest with a lap of 195.816 mph.
