Kyle Busch fastest in first Sprint Cup practice at Kansas

Kyle Busch was fastest in the first Sprint Cup practice session at Kansas Speedway, putting up a top speed of 194.595 mph.

Busch was fastest despite NASCAR penalizing his team 30 minutes of practice time for swerving at the end of last week’s Charlotte race.

Following the No. 18 was Kurt Busch (194.119), Carl Edwards (194.098), Alex Bowman (194.070) and Chase Elliott (194.056).

Chase driver Austin Dillon was 28th fastest and Brad Keselowski was 32nd.

Denny Hamlin, Aric Almirola, Danica Patrick and Kasey Kahne recorded the most laps in the session with 18.
